Effectiveness is the level of usefulness a Codemon has in battle.

A Codemon's effectiveness is determined by the competing Codemon's elements, auras, and any spells used in battle. The effectiveness of both Codemon is displayed at the beginning of a battle both at the top of the screen and in the battle log.
The damage dealt by a Codemon's attack is influenced by its effectiveness. The amount of damage is increased for effective and decreased for ineffective Codemon.
